This fountain grass forms clumps of gracefully spreading narrow, gray-green leaves. It has fluffy, pinkish-white flower spikes that arch upward and outward from the foliage clump in late summer like water spraying from a fountain, hence the common name. Flowers and foliage change to yellowish tan in fall. It’s recommended to cut foliage to the ground in early spring before new growth emerges.
