One of the columnar varieties of boxwoods, the Dee Runk is perfect for areas in the landscape that require a tall, but very narrow evergreen shrub. The boxwood was discovered in the nineties at the University of Virginia's experimental farm and has proven to be the strongest of the columnar boxwood cultivars. It has small oval glossy green leaves. It prefers part sun, but with survive in full sun and full shade. In full sun the leaves will bronze, and in full shade the leaves and growth will not be as robust. The boxwood produces tiny white insignificant blooms in April and May. The Dee Runk is a slow grower, and will reach 8 - 10' tall and 2 - 3' wide at full maturity.
