Chicago Hardy Fig
Ficus carica 'Chicago Hardy'
Thought to originate on Mt. Etna in Sicily, this hardy fig often dies back to the ground in colder climates and grows back to produce fruit in late summer. The fruit is small and sweet. Best for fresh eating! This variety does well growing in a large container and protected in winter. Figs should be planted in a location protected from winds to ensure winter survival.
