The wax begonia is a compact, mounding, succulent with colorful blooms and waxy leaves in green to bronze coloration. In flower colors of red, white and pink, the begonia flourishes in garden beds and containers as well as hanging baskets. It does well in full shade to part sun, and blooms May through August. It is very frost sensitive. This plant is an annual and is not considered hardy in the Delaware Valley Region.
